A running theme in the National Park Service is that some of its most popular and iconic locations are being “loved to death.” In 2017, the top ten most visited parks received 15% of all national park visits. That means out of 331 million visits over 52 million were in places like Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, Grand Canyon, and Zion. It is undeniable that these parks are incredible locations but many people aren’t aware of the other 408 national treasures in the National Park System. Beyond our #4theParks donations, core to Wild Tribute is education. Showcasing some the nation’s “hidden gems” is one of our favorite past times and we are eager to formalize such in a series kickstarted by Park Ranger and friend, Todd Johnson. Our first installment features Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, which straddles the Wyoming/Montana border.
